This song depicts an angry, hurt person on a road trip home who was previously in a bad, long-distance work situation and had to leave it under difficult circumstances not under their control. It is written from the perspective of a boss or someone who is their superior or responsible for their work situation, which has also adversely impacted the worker’s personal life (and romantic relationship).
